Next to Normal set model

With every new show comes the “meet ‘n greet”, where the Arts Club staff and the new cast and crew get to meet and mingle over coffee and donut holes (sugar and caffeine get the party started). One of the great things that happens is the designers present their concepts for the show. For the set designer, this involves the creation of an incredibly detailed scale model called a maquette. The maquette is also used by the carpenters when they build the set, in addition to drawings and renderings. Here is designer Ted Roberts’ vision for the Next to Normal set which he showed us this morning!
